Born in Istanbul, Lafçı has graduated from Şişli Terakki High School and Marmara University Faculty of Communication respectively. Unlike his father who served Turkish advertising industry as an art director for more than 30 years, he preferred to become a copywriter. In 2009, he was hired as a copywriter intern by the agency Federation (formerly known as HEP) where he won his first Crystal Apple award.
In 2012, he was hired by Medina Turgul DDB, responsible for global and local brands including Volkswagen, Hürriyet and Petrol Ofisi.
In February 2013, he started working at MullenLowe Istanbul team as a Copywriter, in charge of Turkish Airlines, OMO, D-Smart, SEAT, Defacto, Clear and many Unilever Group brands.
During 5 years at MullenLowe, he won many prestigious awards.
After a short period joining Tribal Worldwide Istanbul as a senior copywriter, he has been assigned as the Creative Group Head. He and his team managed to win many awards and competitions in three and a half years. Since January 2022, Lafçı is the Creative Director of Tribal Worldwide Istanbul.
